Been a privilege working and learning with an amazing and dedicated group of international and multidisciplinary colleagues at Jameel Arts & Health Lab, CULTURUNNERS, and Social Biobehavioural Research Group who have toiled tenaciously on this. We hope the series will be a useful resource to inform development ahead for the arts and health field.
We celebrated the landmark launch of the full Lancet Global Collection on Arts and Health led by the Jameel Arts & Health Lab at the UNGA Healing Arts Week 2026 on 22 Sept 2026.
The multi-year project, the first of its kind on arts and health by The Lancet Group comprises of i) a commentary by Ms Michelle Bachelet, Former President of Chile, ii) a viewpoint article “The arts as a global health resource: key priorities for future research, and iii) a review “Developing roadmaps for advancing practice, reserach, and policy in the arts and health”. The photo essay “Visualizing relationships between the Arts and Health” is also a first in Lancet’s 120 years history.
